Mobile application
A mobile product for managing work while away from a desk.
This is an illustrative concept, not a client project. Fieldbook and every company, person and figure shown are fictional.

The challenge
Consider a team that spends most of the day on customer sites. Schedules arrive by text message, paperwork is completed by hand and photos sit on personal phones. Back at the office, someone types it all up.
Information arrives late, details are lost and customers wait longer than they should for reports and invoices.
The idea
A mobile app that gives each person their schedule for the day, the details of every job and the checklist they need to complete.
Photos, notes and signatures are captured on the phone and attached to the job automatically. The app keeps working without signal and syncs when a connection returns, so the office sees completed work as soon as it is done.
What it includes
- Daily schedule
- Today's jobs in order, with addresses, contacts and access notes.
- Digital checklists
- Structured forms that replace paper, with required fields so nothing is missed.
- Photo capture
- Photos taken in the app and attached to the right job and checklist item.
- Offline working
- Jobs and forms stored on the device, synchronised automatically when signal returns.
- Customer sign-off
- On-screen signatures captured at the end of a visit.
- Push notifications
- Alerts when a schedule changes or an urgent job is added.
How we would approach it
- A React Native app that runs on both iPhone and Android from one codebase.
- Jobs, checklists and photos stored on the device, then synchronised automatically when signal returns.
- A web dashboard for the office built on the same data and TypeScript types, so app and dashboard never disagree.
